From the Sellers: We looked at dozens of houses on the market in 2008 before we found the best one for our lifestyle. Located in the Lakewood neighborhood, our home has easy access to Buddy Attick Park, Greenbelt Lake, and is just a 10 minute walk to Roosevelt Center, the heart of historic Old Greenbelt. We started every morning with walking our dog either around the lake or through the nearby forest preserve. . . . . . The Center has the COOP grocery store and pharmacy, the city theater, a theater arts center, the New Deal Cafe, the MakerSpace activity center, the youth center, the aquatics and fitness center, tennis courts, recreation fields and much more. . . . . . . .While the home had been well-loved by the original owners, we moved in with plans to make several upgrades. We began with the kitchen which was a single wall galley layout in a large living area addition to the original house. We remodeled the kitchen to have all new cabinets, open wall shelves, GE Profile appliances, and a fabulous granite countertops featuring an island with a raised work and eating area. We love to hang out in the kitchen, enjoying the cooking options offered by a gas range and split electric ovens. In the winter the new gas insert fireplace keeps the area nice and warm. . . . . . . Off of the new kitchen our next project was to add a screened porch, great for multi-season relaxation though we did also use it for many work projects. The rear patio, with a grill and second fireplace is a great outdoor area for entertaining friends and neighbors. The gas powered generator has never failed to keep our lights and key outlets powered during storm or accident induced power failures. . . . . . . Our third project was to remodel the main floor laundry room and bathroom to create an improved layout while adding a modern steam shower. This versatile shower offers both a great start to any day and a wonderful relaxing end to any tiring day of work or exercise. . . . . . . In 2012 we replaced the roof and contracted with Solar City to add a 23 panel, 6KW solar array to our south facing roof. We are enthusiastic proponents of both solar energy and Solar City. They have been a wonderful partner on this hassle free project. We have also replaced the furnace, air conditioner, and hot water tank. . . . . . . Our final project, just completed, was to replace the basement floor. The basement, with the 2nd fireplace, is a great place to get away from both hot summer and cold winter days.
